DealSignal is a remote-first startup operating in a $50-billion market. Our goal is to give our clients access to high-quality customer data with advanced insights and predictive analytics.


Currently, we are looking for a Senior-level backend Ruby RoR engineer for a fully remote position. We are already a stable company in the market. But together, we will launch and grow the next version of the product. We plan to grow 10x in the next 2 years.

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Agile development team, you will be responsible for all and most of the following activities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality Ruby applications and services.
  • Design, implement, and optimize data processing pipelines.
  • Integrate and utilize data effectively.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs in the application.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Work with the product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into technical requirements.

Job requirements

  • Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails developer (4+ years).
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Redis, in-memory
  • Queueing & Event-driven Architecture (Sidekiq, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
  • ElasticSearch
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with ClickHouse or similar columnar database management systems.
  • Experience in optimizing the performance of high-loaded database queries, Big Data
  • REST APIs, OAuth
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Minimum Upper intermediate (B2+) English level, both written and oral
  • Physically located in GMT+0 — GMT+6 timezones to better interact with the team. 

Not required, but it will be a plus:

  • DevOps skills (Docker, Terraform, Packer… Nomad), AWS (EC2, AWS Lambda, Autoscaling groups, VPC, Security Groups, AWS Cloudwatch)
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is beneficial.
  • Experience with data processing frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
  • Experience working with large 100M+ records databases
  • Experience with ML & AI
